About us
The Saint George Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church was established in 2007 by a group of Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church members originally from Kerala, India. Having settled in and around Aberdeen, these faithful sought to preserve their spiritual traditions and cultural heritage while living in Scotland. United by their common faith and devotion, they came together to form a close-knit worship community, continuing the liturgical practices and values of the Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church. Over the years, the congregation has steadily grown in both size and spiritual life, welcoming new families and celebrating major feasts and sacraments in accordance with the Syriac Orthodox tradition. With the continued support of clergy and lay members, the church has become a vital part of the diaspora community, fostering unity, faith, and cultural continuity.

To be a Christ-centered, Spirit-led, and community-rooted church, nurturing the faithful through the sacred traditions of the Jacobite Syrian Orthodox faith. We strive to build a strong and loving spiritual home where every generation can grow in faith, serve with compassion, and bear witness to the light of Christ in Aberdeen and beyond.
WHAT WE DO
At St. George Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church, Aberdeen, we are dedicated to worshiping God through the sacred traditions of the Syriac Orthodox faith. We nurture spiritual growth across all ages through Sunday School, youth and family fellowships, and Bible study. Our church is a spiritual home where faith is lived, shared, and strengthened together.
